"pretend school"
This is the week of fun education here at the Wilson Academy of Excellence. No books. No tests. No reading. All hands on activities. Right now, the boys are engaged in painting their very own renditions of "Starry Night" We have a plant cell made out of candy and jello in the fridge firming up, and after my shower, we are going to get to work on a treasure map. The kids have nicknamed this week of school "pretend school" since it's so opposite of how school normally is. And they are engaged! I think they are enjoying themselves. I KNOW they are learning. It's a breath of fresh air here. It's artistic, free, creative, and fun. It's how school was when we were in Kindergarten. It's a learning atmosphere. Not a list of facts and numbers. It can't be done every week, but I know we will all be looking forward to this every month. Well, I'd better get back to it. We still have Indian doughnuts to make today!

Sounds like a blast!! Enjoy your "pretend school"!!!
true story: At 4 p.m. I informed the kids school was over and we would pick up where we left off tomorrow. "NO!! they pleaded. Can we still do school????" I reply, "Well, okay, but you have to stop at dinner time!" Can you imagine? Good times. They are working away on their India presentations for International Day.
i wanna go to 'pretend school'...do they have it for college grad's?
I don't see why not. If the teacher can do it, so can you! I've been painting and playing the games just as much as the kids. (Okay, maybe more when they're playing in their rooms)
