redemption

Today is a very special day. I will be leaving this afternoon with Isaac and my nephew Kyle and my niece Courtney for Omaha Nebraska. We are going to camp out in the aquarium zoo all night, take a night hike of the zoo, and visit the zoo in the morning as well. Now this would always be a fun time. This is my favorite field trip of the entire year. But this year I get to take my nephew and niece as well. This is very cool since for a while I wasn't allowed to spend alone time with them. I feel as though I missed out. I was robbed. And for those of you who know me well, you KNOW how very important my family is to me. Creating bonds and memories w/ these kids are on the top of my priority list. So we're on our way. Literally and figuratively and I'm so excited! Some time with the kids. Some time w/ my son. Some time w/ the kids and my son together, so they can get to know one another a little better as well. What a great weekend. There is very little sleep that will happen tonight. There will be fighting in the car. I will be a little anxious going this trip alone. But when we get home, and I'm looking at the pictures of this special field trip; it's all going to be worth it. And I will smile knowing I'm on the road to redemption. A special thanks to my sister Misty who didn't bat an eye when I called her at the very last minute to BEG if her kids could go with me. She didn't even have 24 hours notice. Thanks sis. We're going to have a great time.
