my birthday present

I had a nice day today. That's it. That's my birthday present. I couldn't have asked for anything more. It started off rocky w/ my mom calling me with happy birthday wishes. I was in no mood for celebrations. I told her I just couldn't do that today, but that I would get out of this house and do something. So I called my Mother-In-Law and asked her if she wouldn't mind spending the day with Isaac and I. After Steven went to school, we headed to Independence where we shopped for Fall/Winter clothes for Isaac, some more pre school stuff, and some pretties for my new bathroom. Then Mom took us to lunch where I proceeded to eat like a pig and still find room for desert. When I got home barely in time for the bus; my sis came over and spent a little bit of time together. Steve had called a few time throughout the day to check on me and was shocked to find me in a somewhat put together manor. (I did have a few meltdowns) So he brought home dinner from our favorite restaurant in Claycomo, a bouquet of flowers, and cards galore! I again; ate like a pig, took a bath in my new Jacuzzi tub, and still found time for chocolate cake and ice cream.

I found myself feeling guilty that I wasn't hysterical the majority of the day. But I said, "Satan, get behind me" God gave me this nice day as a special gift just for me. I'm going to enjoy it.

I know I'll hurt for some time. But I was grateful for such a wonderful day.
