Is it too much to ask?

I have a pre schooler on scholarship. I was happy to give it to him. He will be going to Kindergarten next year and is no where near ready. His younger sister has cancer and his family is in quite a desperate financial situation.

They have never thanked me. They have never even mentioned the scholarship. As a matter of fact, they have been late several times to get their son. After the second time, I had a talk with them and told them they needed to be here on time. That didn't work and I had yet another talk w/ the parents where I volunteered to take the boy on my bus route to insure the timeliness of both his arrival and departure. So today I take him home after pre school and no one is home! I had to wait 15 minutes with him in my car before anyone showed up. Then when they DO get there, the only thing mentioned is a, "sorry bud." to their son. Not one word to me.

So that's it. I will be giving a written notice that one more tardy and the child is no longer allowed here at school. It's a shame too since he so desperately needs pre k. I don't understand people. Is it too much to ask to show some appreciation for your teacher? The cost of pre school is $1035 for the year that they don't have to pay. Couldn't you at the very least be on time to get your kid or even be home for that matter? I never even asked for a thanks. But is it too much to ask that I not be ran over and taken advantage of? Not going to happen my friends. I'm writing a letter to the parents today. I'll keep you posted. My guess is he'll be gone before the new year.

No it isn't too much to ask. I don't understand it either, how people can feel so entitled to things like scholarships and rides home that they can't even say thank you or apologize if they are behind. That's a shame for the little boy though.

I know. And that's what has kept me from saying good bye yet. But I refuse to be walked all over. So I'm going to have to say it. Schmucks.

So I gave his mom the letter this morning when I picked him up for school. They told me when I dropped him off after school that Wednesday would be his last day.

Wow, they are very ungrateful huh? Oh well...you did a nice thing and they couldn't comply so they need to be gone. Now you can have a spot for someone who will really appreciate it.
