In India- Steve hears bells all the time. He inquired what that was and learned in the Hindu religion, you have to ring the bells to wake up the Gods before you make your request. So you ring the bell, give the gift, then pray. And there is still no guarantee that your request will be granted. If it's not granted; it's not necessarily that wasn't what was best for you. It's more likely to be that your gift wasn't big enough.
I think it's wonderful that MY God- the ONE TRUE God is ALWAYS awake. He never sleeps. And if He chooses to say "no" or "not right now" it's because He knows best. Not because of anything I have to do to earn the answer. What a mighty God we serve! And look how weak other Gods are compared to Him! Our God reigns supreme.
